Dr. R. Renuka Devi is a dental academic, periodontist, researcher, inventor and Registered Indian Patent Agent, with a background that spans dentistry, psychology, biomedical research and intellectual property.
Her interest in intellectual property grew out of first-hand research. Having guided research that progressed into a patent application, and contributed to innovations in natural oral healthcare formulations, she knows how easily an idea born in a laboratory, a clinic or a classroom can go unprotected — and what it takes to protect it.

Frequently asked questions
Can you guarantee that my patent, trademark or design will be registered?
No one can honestly guarantee that. Registration is decided by the relevant office after examination. What we can do is assess your position candidly, prepare the application carefully, and support you through the process.
Should I describe my invention in the contact form?
Please don’t. Tell us the general field and what you need help with. Technical details should be shared only after we have agreed an appropriate confidentiality arrangement.
I am about to publish a paper or present at a conference. Does that matter?
It can. Public disclosure before filing can affect whether an invention can be patented, or whether a design is still new. Speak to us before you publish, present, exhibit or launch.
Do you file trademark applications yourselves?
Trademark searches, assessment and preparation are coordinated by Shinelex Oceanus. The filing and any representation before the Trade Marks Registry are handled by an appropriately qualified and authorised professional, and you will know who is acting before anything is filed.
Are official fees and taxes included in your prices?
The prices shown are the published fees for each service category. Your written quotation sets out exactly what is included — including whether official fees and taxes are — before any work begins.
Is a website an intellectual property service?
No. Website and digital-presence work is a separate creative service. It complements protection work but does not itself protect an idea or a brand in law.
Do you work with colleges and research institutions?
Yes — through awareness lectures, faculty development programmes, hands-on workshops and consultations with research teams. See Innovation & IP Awareness for details.
